The Helicoprion is this spiraled-jaw fish that can get up from 10-24 feet long, you'd think that this is a shark but no, it's actually a fish. It's a prehistoric ratfish that was on earth during the Permian period which was 299 to 251 million years ago and died out during the early triassic period . which is completely different then the Jurassic which happened much later on. The triassic period extinction was very big, wiping out 96% of life on earth . Though the Helicoprion was extinct, it left a mark in marine life as now current ratfish are related to these very strange creatures. Their jaws are what caught archaeologists off guard, its spiral jaw leaves zoologists baffled because we don't really have an idea of how they ate.
