A convoy of cartel gunmen arrived in Chiapas town as turf war intensified. Members of the Sinaloa cartel entered the town of Frontera Comalapa, Chiapas on Saturday, September 23. Frontera Comalapa, Chiapas is a municipality that is part of a border region where the Sinaloa cartel and the Jalisco new generation cartel (CJNG) are involved in a long-running turf war that has disrupted the lives of many people. The people welcoming the gunmen were supposedly forced to stand outside and greet the gunmen with applause and cheering. This event is because members from the Sinaloa cartel entered new land which could cause more violence in Chiapas due to the fact that there is another cartel also trying to take over. This is intensifying the war between them.
