» Important Info: The Legacy Award Scholarship is provided by Soroptimist International. This scholarship varies in amount because donations make-up most of the scholarship itself. This award is only for “Senior girls”. The scholarship requires many materials including an application and consent form. Students applying for this scholarship must be available for an oral presentation of their submitted essay at the Delta Art Gallery in the Streets of Brentwood on Wednesday, March 16th at 7:00 PM. The date, time, and location for the announcement of the winner of the award is still TBD.

Bethel Island Children's Support Tuition Assistance Scholarship

» Amount: Annual $2,000 - $10,000

» Important Info: Applicants of this award must be full time residents on Bethel Island, Dutch Slough, Wells Road and Sand Mound Road. If applying, students must plan on going to either a two-year community college or four-year college or university. In addition to the application itself, students must have the endorsement of this guidance counselor, attesting they are qualified for the scholarship. In college, students awarded the scholarship must reapply every semester, and funds will be paid directly to the college/university. If selected by the Bethel Island Children’s Support Scholarship Committee, an email will be sent notifying you no later than Friday, April 1st.

California Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Assistance League High School Senior Scholarship

» Amount: Up to $6,000

» Important Info: There are many prerequisites for students to be awarded this scholarship. Students must be going to a four-year college or university, have at least a 3.0 GPA, be a resident of Contra Costa County, and have involvement throughout their community and within their high school. For the application itself, an application must be completed, along with a school recommendation, a community recommendation, a financial report, FAFSA report, transcript, SAT/ACT scores (if taken), a parent letter, and a personal statement from the student. Recipients of the scholarship will be notified no later than Sunday, May 1st.

Assistance League Foster Youth Scholarship

» Amount: $500 - $4,000

» Important Info: To be qualified for this scholarship, applicants must be either “current or former dependents of the court in the foster care program of Contra Costa County or of another county and living in Contra Costa County.” Students must be enrolling in a four-year college, community college, or vocational school. Beside the application, you will need an official transcript of grades (with official seals of school and signature of registrar or other school official), a personal statement from the applicant (pertaining to specific subjects listed in the instructions), two letters of recommendation (from an advisor/faculty member and a member of the community, employer, coach, or CASA volunteer applicant), and finally, a Ward of the Court verification document. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than Saturday, April 30th.

Delta Realtors Community Service Foundation Scholarship Application

» Important Info: This scholarship requires an application process, essay, unofficial transcript, and four letters of recommendation. California Alarm Association Scholarship

» Important Info: This scholarship is only for children of active law enforcement and fire service personnel, without exceptions. Apart from the application, an essay (500-1,000 words), high school transcript, proof of college/university acceptance, proof of parent’s occupation, SAT/ACT scores (optional), hardship considerations (optional), résumé (“listing academic prizes, awards, hobbies, extracurricular activities, community service with number of hours worked, and work history), and a letter of recommendation (from high school counselor, teacher, coach, or supervisor of outside activities) are all required.

Contra Costa County (CCC) Historical Society Essay Contest

» Important Info: This scholarship is based on written essays of specific topics picked by the CCC Historical Society. These topics include (1) General History of Contra Costa County, (2) Women Who Impacted the History of Contra Costa County, and (3) The Minority Experience in the History of Contra Costa County. Applicants may choose to write for one or multiple topics. Each essay must be between 1,200 and 1,500 words in MLA format. No matter your grades, you may submit an essay for an opportunity of receiving this scholarship.

PB&J Scholarship

Important Info: This scholarship is given to students who experienced personal challenges that disallowed them from performing well academically, but still have the motivation to succeed. There are no GPA requirements, the only requirement is seniors graduating and planning on attending a two- or four-year college/university.
