Following up a response: “This is the last thing I want to do,” he says. “ I love touring and I am so sorry to be letting anyone down. I look forward to getting back as soon as I can.”
What Actually Happened
The singer appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London to deny the allegations. After pleading not guilty to all six charges, O’Conner was released on unconditional bail ahead of a provisional trial date on Jan. 3, 2023. Hence the reason why Rex Orange County for “unforeseen personal circumstances” of canceling his tour was actually because the man could not leave the country was because of the sexual assault.
On June 1st, the 24 year old allegedly assaulted the woman twice in London’s West End and then four times the next day, that includes once in a taxi and three instances at his own home in Notting Hill. The woman is reputedly over the age of 16, which is the legal age of consent in the U.K.

Fans like Kiyah @K1vah also tweets out: “Me immediately removing all of Rex Orange County songs out of my playlist.”
As a person who wrote an article reviewing Rex’s album ‘who cares’ spending hours and hours listening to his songs and not listening to anything else. It made it really hard for me to still listen to his songs, especially the love songs that I express my relationship with. For me it was one of those moments of not being able to separate the art from the artist. Constantly skipping, removing his songs on my playlists and feeling guilty whenever I let a song play.
As of now there still isn’t any further details made public about the case. O'Conner did not release a statement besides the statement from the one that his representatives shared.
