Hi! My name is Melissa Torres and I am one of your editors for editoral. I'm in charge of editing and uploading articles for the editorial page which basically includes album, movie, tv show reviews, and anything else that is opinion based! This is a great section to help you decide which movies or other things in the entertainment industry is worth your time!
A little bit about myself, I am 18 years old and a Senior here at Freedom High. I first joined journalism my junior year of high school and mainly joined because one of my friends was joining it, but I ended up really liking it and found how much I really enjoy writing! Back then, I was a writer however and decided to become an editor until my senior year. Some things I like to do on my free time is listen to music, sing, hang out with friends, or just getting ready in my room for no reason lol. I am graduating in June and I plan on going to Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles, and major in nursing. I plan to become a labor and delivery nurse, gain some experience and eventually get my masters in nursing to become a Certified Nurse Midwife.
I enjoy listening to music and I'm open to all genres of music, if you ever recommend me a song to listen I would love to listen to it and I'll most likely add it to my playlist. A couple of my favorite artists are Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, The Weeknd, BTS, and NCT 127.
Speaking of music, I have a Spotify if you would like to follow me there! @emariagjacobo :) or you can scroll up to the code and take a picture of it. You will need to open up the spotify app, click search and on the top right corner, theres a camera icon and thats how you take a picture of my code ! That code will lead you to my account! If you are vviewing my profile from home you can just click on the code and it will take you straight to my account, otherwise if viewing from school it will say that the site can't be reached.
A little more about me is that I like to read whenever I have the time to. One of my favorite books ever is "Please Look After Mom" by Shin Kyung-sook. The main purpose of the book is to show the stuggles that mothers go through for their children and how sometimes they lose themselves and their identity in the process. The book is beatifully written and if you ever have the time to read it I would strongly suggest that you do! Another book that I throughly enjoyed reading was " Last Night At The Telegraph Club" by Malinda Lo. The book is set in the 1950s in San Francisco. The book is about a Chinese girl discovering herself and her identity.

This is Beabadoobee, She is one of my favorite artits and I would recommend her music to anyone who is interested in new music !

Out of all of the pictures I have with family, this one has to be my favorite one due to the fact that this picture took place in Los Angeles. My grandpa, the one in the middle passed away a few years ago and this was the last picture we took of him with the entire family in it. This picture holds a special place in my heart. If you're having troubling spotting me I'm the one on the bottom right corner !
