Fellow Munchkins, please rise up. The article that you’ve been waiting for is finally here. Isis Gaston, also known as Ice Spice, currently has a spotlight within the media. Her music is certainly unique and has attracted many fans to her music. She definitely blew up and gained a lot of popularity through Tiktok. Songs such as “Munch'' or “Bikini Bottom'' have been trending on the app. The genre that Ice Spice does is drill/ rap. Some people at first thought that her songs were a joke, however, others realized that her music actually sounded nice. Ice spice has been releasing music since 2021 but she didn't receive as much recognition until recently. Most of the songs that she was putting out were being released just as singles, but then on January 20, 2023, she released her debut album, titled ‘Like..?’ with said singles on there. The tracklist follows 1. Gangsta Boo 2. Munch (Feelin’ U) 3. Bikini Bottom 4. Princess Diana 5. Actin a Smoochie 5. In Ha Mood. Just recently she collabed with another artist that is very popular these days that goes by the name of PinkPantheress. If you haven't heard of PinkPantheress, to give you a brief summary of the musician, she is a 20-year-old artist from the Uk, also like Ice Spice, who had her music gain popularity through TikTok. Her Music includes hyper pop/ bedroom pop. PinkPantheress released “Boy’s a liar Pt.2 '' but with Ice Spice as a feature. Releasing a music video of them together this month, on February 3rd, 2023. The music video currently has 24 million views which is pretty impressive considering it was released not long ago. Another one of Ice Spice’s achievements is that Ice Spice earned her first ever top 10 hit on the Hot 100 this week according to @chartdata on Twitter. I asked a couple of people around campus their opinion of Ice Spice and here’s what people had to say.

Overall if you are open to new music, I would suggest listening to Ice Spice, lots of people around campus seem to enjoy the music she puts out, and others haven’t heard of her.
